Dental Assistant Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including exams, fillings, and extractions.
Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for patient procedures.
Sterilize dental instruments and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays and assist with other diagnostic procedures.
Record patient medical and dental histories accurately in electronic or paper records.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to ensure timely and efficient operations.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order materials as needed.
Provide a friendly and calming presence for patients, particularly those with dental anxiety.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards in the dental practice.
Dental Assistant Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional dental assistant certification or training is preferred.
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role in a dental practice.
Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization protocols.
Proficiency in using dental software and electronic health records.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Current CPR certification and understanding of basic first aid.
Familiarity with dental radiology and X-ray equipment.
Willingness to stay updated with continuing education and industry best practices.
