Overview A dental assistant is a healthcare professional who directly supports a dentist by preparing patients for procedures, assisting during dental treatments, taking X-rays, sterilizing instruments, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, all under the supervision of a dentist. Their primary role is to ensure a smooth and comfortable patient experience during dental procedures while maintaining a clean and sterile work environment. Dental Assistants can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, doctor’s offices, and clinics.
Responsibilities Prepare patients for dental procedures
Assist during dental treatments
Take X-rays
Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, sterile work environment
Maintain patient records and schedule appointments
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices
Education/Requirements Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)
High School Education required
Details Must have 2+ days of weekly availability and must provide 8-10 days for training (non-consecutive acceptable). CRITICAL RATE APPROVED $67.20. Locations: North Interstate and Grand Avenue. Experience needed: 1 year in the last 3 years. Location(s): Cascade Park Dental, Salmon Creek Dental, Longview-Kelso Dental.
