Position Summary The Quality Assurance Manager will provide managerial oversight of the QA team at the BIW facility in Santa Rosa, CA. The role includes developing, implementing and maintaining a robust quality system, measuring its effectiveness to ensure products and processes meet internal and customer quality standards as well as regulatory requirements. The position is onsite daily in Santa Rosa, CA.

Essential Responsibilities

Manage all quality activities in Santa Rosa and associated product lines in the Nogales facility.

Manage and coordinate audits for ISO 9001, ISO 80079 (ATEX) and C1D1 product certifications, including internal audit activities, reports and associated corrective actions.

Develop and administer the department’s annual budget.

Conduct salary and performance reviews for employees reporting to this position.

Oversee training needs, including continuous improvement and specialized training for QA and other personnel.

Assist and participate in the company’s training program and evaluate its effectiveness in quality improvement.

Conduct monthly reviews to ensure quality goals and objectives comply with ISO 9001.

Participate in the establishment and implementation of quality specifications, testing procedures and standards for raw materials, process and finished products.

Assist in testing and analysis of new product samples, prototypes and field returns.

Provide technical assistance to Purchasing concerning supplier development for BIW materials and services.

Develop and use control charts and statistics to support quality programs.

Recommend inspection and sampling techniques and quality control plans.

Maintain and prepare reports on quality performance of the department and the company.

Oversee the internal audit program.

Oversee the administration and reporting of discrepancy reports and reject product data to improve processes and products.

Position Requirements

BS degree in a technical or manufacturing field (equivalent education and experience acceptable).

5+ years of experience leading QA in a technical environment (operations and engineering experience preferred).

Preferred certifications: ATEX auditor, ISO 9001 lead auditor, Certified Quality Engineer.

Experience managing people, schedules and timecards.

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and ERP systems.

Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP or AS9145), PFMEA and control plans.

Experience managing manufacturing facilities compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 80079 (ATEX).

Experience leading continuous improvement teams and initiatives.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Effective interaction with internal staff, suppliers, regulatory agencies, parent company representatives.

Ability to multi‑task and adjust priorities appropriately.

Interpretation and application of policies and procedures.

Familiarity with charting and statistical techniques; proficiency with basic math and statistics.

Ability to administer or directly train personnel in statistics, charting and other technical training.

Organizational and test/inspection equipment skills preferred.

Equal Pay Act Range Annual salary range: $119,200 to $178,000, plus benefits and incentive plans.
