Motion Technologies: (Revenue of $1.4 B; headcount of ~4,000; operates in 13 countries) manufactures brake components and specialized sealing solutions, shock absorbers and damping technologies primarily for the global automotive, truck and trailer, public bus and rail transportation markets.

Industrial Process: (Revenue of $1.4 B; headcount of ~3,400; operates in 30 countries) manufactures engineered fluid process equipment serving a diversified mix of customers in global industries such as chemical, energy, mining, and other industrial process markets and is a provider of plant optimization and efficiency solutions and aftermarket services and parts.

Position Summary The Test Engineer works in a hands‑on environment supporting the design engineering team to provide technical support for environmental qualification testing of new products. The role involves designing electro‑mechanical test setups, maintaining and improving existing setups, and employing automation where applicable.

Essential Responsibilities

Quickly understand the company’s products and all test requirements (primarily rotary actuators, hydraulic valves, and pressure and temperature switches).

Translate test requirements & procedures into physical test setups and test plans; assist technicians with construction of test setups.

Implement environmental tests per RTCA DO‑160 and MIL‑STD‑810 (temperature, humidity, altitude, vibration, shock, hydraulic/pneumatic flow).

Modify existing test equipment hardware and/or software to accommodate new or changed requirements.

Monitor ongoing tests and interpret data to identify and troubleshoot issues.

Evaluate outside test labs to assist with qualification test programs as necessary.

Work on electrical panels/controllers/circuit boards of high‑pressure & voltage pneumatic and hydraulic systems (up to 10,000 PSI / 280 VAC).

Work on test equipment that operates at high temperatures (up to 800° F).

Create equipment drawings and electrical schematics, specify and purchase all components, find reliable vendors, and write software for automated test equipment.

Ensure a safe environment at all times.

Position Requirements

Preferred bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in an aerospace test setting.

Understanding of aerospace quality systems (e.g., AS9100).

Ability to lead cross‑functional qualification test efforts from initial requirements to completion.

Experience with motors, gearboxes, valves, electrical power, pneumatics and hydraulics, and related tools and components, including oscilloscopes.

Prepare detailed documents that are accurate, clear, and concise.

Lift up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with environmental testing per RTCA DO‑160 & MIL‑STD‑810 (temperature, humidity, altitude, vibration, shock, hydraulic/pneumatic flow).

Design, develop and debug DC to low‑frequency analog and digital electronic circuits.

Help design mechanical systems and mechanisms in SolidWorks and/or Creo.

Develop and debug test automation software in LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python.

Work with vendors to clarify all aspects of design for custom parts, including machined parts and PCBs.

Strong understanding of and willingness to follow aerospace quality systems.
