The Data Center Infrastructure Construction team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to delivering state‑of‑the‑art data center facilities at scale and at pace. This team comprises experienced project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists who work collaboratively to ensure the successful execution of complex data center construction projects. They bring a wealth of expertise in project management, technical design, and on‑site construction, ensuring that our data centers meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. By staying ahead of industry trends and incorporating innovative technologies, this team plays a crucial role in supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s data needs and driving our growth and success.
Responsibilities
Focus on base building and MEP infrastructure portions of the project as well as high‑density liquid cooling tenant fit‑outs.
Lead and manage the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and coordinate with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
Analyze projects independently to evaluate risk profiles, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation, and inform the business of potential impacts.
Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the detailed scope of tenant fit‑out projects.
Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with design teams to align construction activities with approved design plans and specifications.
Serve as the primary point of contact between Oracle and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Provide ongoing colocation provider evaluation input for continuous improvement.
Conduct regular project visits to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality throughout the life of the project.
Required Skills
Heavy knowledge of base building data center construction – civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing.
Project management for startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Expertise in developing and implementing long‑term strategies and establishing program‑level requirements for construction projects.
Deep understanding of data center design, construction, and operational requirements, focusing on cutting‑edge technologies and sustainability.
Proven expertise in managing large‑scale data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and within‑budget delivery.
Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
Proficiency in creating, managing, and optimizing project budgets to ensure cost‑effective use of resources.
Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
Extensive experience in selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
In‑depth knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies to ensure compliance in all construction activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear project updates.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on data center or colocation infrastructure for a general contractor, colocation provider, or hyperscaler.
Proven track record of successfully managing large‑scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Travel required, up to 25% or more at times.

US: Hiring Range: $120,100 – $251,600 per year. Eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
