Advertised Salary: $16–$18.50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (hours may vary)
General Description SUNY Niagara’s Child Development Center seeks a part‑time, grant‑funded Lead Teacher. The position is for a maximum of 30 hours per week for about 30 weeks, Monday through Friday, from late August through mid‑May. Reliable transportation is expected.
Typical Work Activities
Planning and preparing the learning environment
Individualizing infant/toddler routines
Facilitating curriculum goals and objectives
Recording and observing monthly assessment measures for children
Coordinating parent and teacher conferences
General housekeeping duties
Serving meals
Planning and preparing involvement activities and center recruitment
Other duties assigned by the Director
Essential Functions Ability to relate to a diverse population of children, students, and parents.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field; OR
CDA or similar credential and one year of experience caring for children; OR
Nine college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field with a plan of study leading to a CDA or Associate’s Degree and two years of experience caring for children.
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field \ CDA Credential
BOCES Early Childhood Education graduate
State provisional or permanent teacher certification
At least two years of consistent paid experience as a lead teacher in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years
