Job Description:

Full-Time | Night Shift | New PEC Opening Summer 2025

Acclaim Multi‑Specialty Group, in partnership with JPS Health Network, is seeking a full-time psychiatrist to join our Department of Behavioral Health on the night shift at our Brand‑New Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC)—opening Summer 2025.

Job Summary:

The Physician is responsible for administering and interpreting all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments; may also conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities:

Psychiatric Triage

Psychiatric Evaluation

Short term interventions including observation, monitoring and stabilization of acute crisis

Referral services that meet the needs of the individual person

Evaluation for admission to an Acute Inpatient Units

Schedule:

Full‑time | 12‑hour night shifts (8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.)

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize patient care.

Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families.

Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.

Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.

Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Demonstrates patient centered and patient valued behavior.

Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care.

Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.

Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.

Partners and communicates with acumen to build a positive brand and patient/customer experience for those who encounter JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. This would include health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders.

Serves as a resource to the community.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

Previous experience working in a PEC as a student or faculty member preferred but not required

Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Residency and/or Fellowship training within specialty

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.

Board Certification or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area

Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills

Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach

Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior

A commitment to medical education, including teaching and training medical and graduate students, house staff, and fellows

A commitment to lead and support efforts to enhance the climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects
