Senior Business Development Specialist - Builders
Join Visual Comfort & Co. as a Senior Business Development Specialist and help grow our market presence and sales within the residential home builder, interior design, architecture, and electrical contractor sectors. The role focuses on identifying new customers, cultivating existing relationships, and driving significant growth for the organization. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales, you will be part of a cross‑functional team that supports customer acquisition, growth, and retention. Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the sales process, leveraging marketing, operational, and technical resources to develop and implement solutions. Access existing and target customers, conducting 16 face‑to‑face sales calls per week. Effectively present Visual Comfort’s value proposition to influence customer decision‑making. Network with architects, builders, and designers through trade associations and industry events. Manage existing customers to ensure retention and continued sales growth. Use proprietary CRM to manage a priority‑based schedule with existing and target customers. Develop a strong knowledge of Visual Comfort’s product offering, service value propositions, and operating systems. Analyze and interpret data to drive decision‑making. Requirements
5 years of consultative sales experience in a B2B environment. 3+ years’ experience in custom home building products, interior design, luxury home furnishings, or the lighting industry. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required. Proven track record of cultivating relationships and achieving sales goals. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. Superior communication, presentation, and organization skills. Passion for design and construction markets. Strong analytical and decision‑making skills. Independent, proactive, self‑motivated, and committed to exceptional customer service. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with a CRM system preferred. Ability to understand and adapt to complex distribution channels. Benefits
