We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Family Birth Center to deliver family‑centered obstetric care in a welcoming, high‑autonomy environment.
About the Opportunity As a RN in our 7‑bed LDRP unit, you will care for antepartum patients, support labor and delivery, manage high‑risk obstetric conditions, and participate in family‑centered cesarean sections. You will work with a Level II nursery, stabilizing infants older than 32 weeks gestation. Your role requires triage, education, medication administration, and coordination with OB providers and NNPs while maintaining independence and compliance with Colorado statutes.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily patient flow to optimize care, safety, and satisfaction.
Triage incoming patient requests for services.
Deliver patient education to facilitate plan of care and promote optimal wellness.
Delegate care appropriately in accordance with Colorado law.
Perform competent healthcare assessment, prioritisation, and critical‑thinking skills.
Handle a high volume of patient telephone requests for medication, information, and assistance.
Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures while adhering to safety guidelines.
Coordinate care with other physician practices, Vail Health, and partner organisations to maximise patient outcomes.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Apply Relationship‑Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and effective communication.
Model the principles of a Just Culture and our organizational values.
Perform other duties as assigned and maintain HIPAA compliance.
What You Will Need Experience
One year of clinical nursing experience.
License(s)
Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a valid compact state.
Certification(s)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
Computer / Typing
Must possess or obtain within 90 days the computer skills necessary for online learning, form completion, and benefits enrollment.
Education
Associate Nursing Degree (minimum) for positions hired after 07/01/2018.
