The Tampa Bay Rays are searching for multiple individuals to help grow our nutrition initiatives throughout our Player Development system. This position will assist the Minor League Nutrition Coordinator with providing best-in-class nutritional services to our players and staff. Individuals in this role will leverage their knowledge and training to plan, organize and execute meal services, ensure proper food safety and standards, and educate our players and staff on proper nutritional practices.

Description
The tentative term of the seasonal appointment will run from February 15 – September 15, with the potential ability for longer-term appointments. If assigned to a full-season affiliate, travel will be expected with the team throughout the entire Minor League Championship season.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and execute pre- and post-game catered meals for affiliates both at home and on the road while maintaining quality standards and budget
Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are met at home facilities and on the road
Perform nutrition assessments, individualized meal timelines, hydration testing, and maintenance of nutrition care plans in the electronic record
Develop nutrition education materials, deliver nutrition-specific presentations, and provide grocery store tours and cooking classes as needed
Act as a reliable nutrition resource for the players, coaches, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and front office
Assist with the ordering, storing, stocking, inventory, evaluation, and distribution of NSF Certified for Sport supplements, and all clubhouse snacks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences, sports nutrition or related field
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is required
Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) is a plus
ServSafe manager certification is required by the start of the position
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and use good judgment at all times
Ability to work a non-standard work week and travel extensively
ISAK certification is a plus
Ability to communicate in Spanish strongly preferred
