A day in the life:
Ensure that all services are performed in accordance with company practices through the effective management of employees and materials
Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations as assigned to Supervisors, Mechanics, Apprentices, and Helpers
Ensure product quality by enforcing inspection standards, performing audits and promoting a lean mindset
Monitor and control productivity, manpower, and tools to ensure efficient and effective use of departmental resources and provide oversight of all inventory activities
Monitor and control the implementation of safety policies and the adherence thereof; conduct and document weekly safety meetings; attend safety and accident review meetings in an effort to continuously enhance current safety policies and employee practices
Ensure all employees have the skills, training, and qualifications to complete assigned tasks
Retrain and discipline employees in violation of company policy or standard
You should have:
Minimum of five years of experience supervising in a manufacturing environment
A strong pipefitting, welding grade, plumbing and medical gas trade knowledge
Knowledge of Sheetmetal fabrication practices and SMACNA standards
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work).
Demonstrate proven success in driving projects to completion with zero-tolerance and technical guidelines
Possess excellent mechanical, administrative, and analytical skills
Ability to use current technology (i.e., laptop computer, tablet and smartphone)
Possess knowledge of current IBC and OSHA safety requirements
Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
Possess production management skills including the ability to visualize, plan, and execute goals
