Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering is a leading-edge product development team that creates enterprise compute and storage server designs for our innovative web service and e-commerce technology platforms. We are seeking experienced Thermal/Mechanical Engineers to build the next generation of our cloud platforms. Our success depends on our truly innovative server infrastructure; we’re handling massive scale and rapid integration of emergent technologies.
Key Job Responsibilities
Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems
Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives
Participate in the cross‑discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions
Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems
Manage interaction with overseas resources
Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience with the project management of technical projects

Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $219,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
