Role Overview Design, develop, troubleshoot software services and tools for OCI's network automation team.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead for team projects.

Contribute to roadmap development to scale tools/services for new network designs.

Mentor junior engineers, participate in operational rotations, and provide break‑fix support and escalation for event remediation, including leading root cause analysis (RCA) efforts.

Collaborate with networking services to integrate support tooling and evolving business requirements.

Own several small projects and services, build scalable distributed systems, improve operational tooling, practices, deployment processes, and mentoring team members.

Modify subsystem architecture to enhance reliability, availability, performance, and scale; participate in architectural design reviews.

Improve pipelines, deployments, and validations across components.

Own and enhance metrics, KPIs, SLOs, visualizations; automate operational challenges; develop complex scripts.

Required Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

8–10+ years of experience in software development, design, implementation, and operation of large‑scale distributed services.

Proficiency with Java, Python, or C++ and object‑oriented programming.

Excellent knowledge of basic data structures, search/sort algorithms.

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies.

Experience developing service‑oriented systems, REST.

Experience developing network automation or device management solutions.

Experience with Jira, Confluence, BitBucket.

Knowledge of Scrum & Agile Methodologies.

Compensation & Benefits US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 - $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
