Embedded Software Engineering
Design, code, debug, and integrate software for embedded real‑time control systems
Work with RTOS or embedded Linux
Develop device drivers and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, MIL‑STD‑1553)
Integrate systems in lab and field environments
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across hardware and systems
Systems Engineering
Lead or support system‑level design, integration, and validation of electro‑mechanical subsystems
Develop fire control algorithms and dynamic models using MATLAB/Simulink
Define interfaces between hardware/software subsystems
Interface with customers and suppliers on system requirements and validation
Support testing activities (lab and field)
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
Strong technical foundation in either embedded real‑time systems and C programming (Software Track) or hands‑on experience with integrated hardware/software systems in control/cybersecurity contexts (Systems Track)
Willingness to work on‑site in Goleta, CA
Travel may be required (up to 10–15%)
Current Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or specialized training in your discipline
Experience with control theory, fire control systems, and modeling/simulation
Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools (Coverity, Fortify, Black Duck) and network protocols/security
Background in defense or aerospace system development
Salary Range Transparency Santa Barbara, CA $80,000.00–$177,000.00 Annually (base salary)
