Position Overview
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek Gastroenterologists (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). Successful candidates will practice in Morgantown, WV and Fairmont, WV.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will practice in the areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the candidate will actively involve teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligibility for state medical license.
Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and gastroenterology fellowship.
Board eligible/board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology.
All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Service Line Details Our GI and Hepatology service line of professionals offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, treats a medically diverse population, and has exposure to clinically challenging cases. A new and expanding endoscopy center includes state‑of‑the‑art suites for advanced procedures and ERCPs, with close access to adjacent specialty clinics.
Tremendous institutional support for academic pursuits, particularly pertaining to chronic viral hepatitis and inflammatory bowel disease, is available. We offer treatment to those in West Virginia as well as patients from five border states. The growing Section of Digestive Diseases offers opportunities to build and design programs within a large referral academic center.
