Key job responsibilities
Drive world‑class quality in the Data Center to achieve the best operating, lowest cost infrastructure in the world; obsess over quality, engineering and design continuous improvements.
Make quick decisions with limited data based on experience and understanding of the subject matter.
Focus on fiber optic and optic components, cabling and interconnect products, technologies and standards; scope may expand to mechanical and electrical (M&E) and other mission‑critical components later.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to establish a comprehensive Global Design Standards document, Global Installation Best Practice Guidelines, and detailed Product Specifications for Inside Plant Cabling; develop Quality Assurance manuals, manage amendments and revisions, formulate audit strategies, and define quality and operational metrics.
Audit and inspect Data Center & Edge sites to ensure standards are being followed, generate punch lists, report and generate remediation plans, close all customer complaints and defects, provide recommendations based on product and vendor performance, and continuously propose improvements to designs and processes.
Conduct training sessions with local Infra Delivery Teams and other Infra Ops organizations to ensure deployments comply with design standards and best practices.
Communicate with technical teams and internal customers to collect requirements and describe features, technical designs, and strategy.
Identify and respond to risks and high‑priority issues rapidly and effectively.
Support New Product Implementation activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
Travel locally 40+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS Data Centers.
About The Team The AWS Quality Team is a fast‑growing team that is rethinking the implementation and design for the critical arteries that connect the various pieces of hardware inside AWS’ data centers and edge sites. As a member of this team, you will be visiting our data centers, ensuring standards are followed, collecting lessons learned, and working directly with engineers, managers, and operations teams across the company to develop structured cabling and installation standards.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in quality assurance engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers or critical infrastructure or large‑scale mechanical and electrical plants.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $67,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
