Accounts Receivable Clerk

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of high‑volume accounts receivable, including financial reconciliations, posting payments, generating aging reports, aging accounts and statements, following up on past‑due accounts and NSF checks, setting up new customer accounts, and preparing monthly accounts receivable statements. The role involves posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, lock‑box, and credit card transactions.
Responsibilities
Keep track of and process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Perform day‑to‑day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Verify discrepancies and resolve client billing issues.
Facilitate the swift payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and contacting clients with outstanding accounts, maintaining set aging percentages by aging categories.
Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
Qualifications Education / Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience (preferably in manufacturing).
Knowledge
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
Skills
Strong data entry skills, including 10‑key proficiency.
Proficiency operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
Effective verbal and written communication in English.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Abilities
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Excellent multi‑tasking skills.
