Location: Jacksonville, FL | Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 per year | Seniority Level: Director | Employment Type: Full‑time

About the Role
As Director of Civil Engineering, you will be a senior leader responsible for overseeing the strategic and technical direction of the firm’s civil engineering practice as it relates to Department of Defense projects. This role demands deep expertise in DoD‑specific design standards, interdisciplinary coordination, and the ability to lead and grow a team dedicated to serving U.S. military clients in accordance with the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
15+ years of experience in civil/site design, with some DoD or military infrastructure projects preferred
Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC‑RAS, InfoDrainage or similar
Familiarity with federal procurement methods, including DBB, DB, and ECI under FAR regulations
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, permitting procedures, and codes
Travel to job sites as needed
Additional Requirements
All candidates must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire. All candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check for access to job sites at military bases if applicable.
