Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer's approved equivalent
Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities
Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
Key Responsibilities will include:
Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
Required Skill Sets:
Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
Experience with: System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
Desired Skill Sets:
Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
Ability to solve complex problems by leveraging available resources and research material
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
