Base pay range $18.00/hr - $20.25/hr
Responsibilities
Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy. Support pharmacy inventory management activities such as receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champion On‑Shelf Availability and validate planograms.
Review and coordinate the use of reports and system applications to maintain accuracy of front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
Execute and maintain front‑end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of management, handling system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
Customer Experience
Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. When serving as leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits such as proactive help, needs identification, and completion of service until satisfaction.
Operations
Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
Scan all deliveries while the vendor is still in the store; focus on One Box receiving and act accordingly if product was delivered or contact vendor for undelivered receipts, opening tickets as needed.
Under supervision of the pharmacist‑in‑charge, verify all pharmacy shipments are posted for products received at the store, and complete or verify postings of all pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders, performing tote audits and reporting shortages or damaged product.
Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process, including warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments, execute disposals, call‑ins, vendor returns before expiration, scan‑outs on all subscribed departments, and pharmacy scan‑outs.
Under supervision of the pharmacist‑in‑charge, complete pharmacy inventory activities such as pharmacy recalls following Hazardous Waste Policy, vendor returns, non‑controlled and damaged salvage returns, excess inventory returns, inter‑store transfers, and verify posting of pharmacy/prescription claims.
Execute all pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and deletions; maintain basic department pricing and handle additional regulatory pricing tasks.
Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items, monitoring pharmacy manual orders, maintaining consigned inventory, and ordering as required.
Ensure all designated pull & quarantine items are updated and placed in the designated holding area.
Maintain accurate inventory counts in all basic departments, stockroom, overstock locations, and pharmacy, including smart counts.
Ensure store compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
Assist in maintaining inventory records, receiving and posting all products in all inventory systems, and organizing files and retaining invoices/receipts/return authorizations.
Help prepare for physical inventory and support physical inventory day activities, including preparing sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy, and auditing the third‑party team on inventory day.
Support keeping all counters and shelves clean and merchandised.
Be knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment.
Assist and coach store team on all package delivery activities, including scanning in/out of packages, completing all daily inventory functions, and handling package returns. Support execution of the Pickup Program.
In designated stores, as leader on duty, record all related sales on the POS, handle scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, voids, product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to safe, and provide change as requested.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers.
Complete any additional activities and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training requirements.
Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
Communications
Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by coaching and developing capabilities with inventory systems. When serving as leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Basic Qualifications
Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Must have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
