Job Purpose
Develops, analyzes, audits and evaluates product cost information within established guidelines. Interfaces with manufacturing engineering, design engineering, procurement, sales and marketing to prepare product cost estimation analysis for the purposes of price quotation, new product design, internal cost information requests and cost reductions/increases.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
Works on new or expanded business opportunities
Analyzes BOMs to gain a thorough understanding of the project
Uses established criteria to determine which supplier to use
Sends RFQs to established supply base to gather quotation information to present to customer
Develops and maintains relationships with company vendors and contractors
Manages bids from vendors and suppliers
Resolves part number issues with suppliers and gathers other relevant information to complete quote
Uses bid data to prepare detailed material estimates and cost estimates for the product
Presents prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
Compiles and records actual costs
Commercial issues between sales and customer are normally escalated to lead or manager
Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of related experience in manufacturing parts estimation
Experience and/or exposure working in an electro-mechanical, system integration or high-tech manufacturing
Strong Excel skills to include math formulas and VLOOKUPs
Experience with Excel created Bills of Materials and spreadsheets
Experience qualifying drawing packages submitted for estimation
Knowledge with prints of drawings and organization of quotation packages
Prior experience reviewing all cost estimated packages for completeness & accuracy preferred
Experience with Oracle a plus
Able to work within deadlines and without direct supervision
Organized with meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Ability to work with different disciplines.
Annual Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
