Passive Thermal Control System Engineer III
within the Lunar Permanence business unit at Blue Origin. This role involves developing thermal control systems for lunar landers, focusing on Cryogenic Multi-Layer Insulation. Responsibilities include ownership of thermal hardware from conception through integration, generating specifications, supporting testing, and providing technical leadership across the spacecraft's lifecycle. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful thermal subsystem performance in lunar missions. Minimum qualifications:
B.S. in Engineering or related field, 5+ years in thermal hardware engineering, knowledge of heat transfer in space, experience with spacecraft thermal hardware, leadership skills, and familiarity with CAD software like Creo. Preferred qualifications:
M.S. or PhD, 8+ years aerospace experience, expertise in passive thermal hardware, hardware testing, vendor management, thermal modeling tools, and experience with NASA standards and lunar missions.
