Property Accounting Manager - Hybrid
Our client is a vertically integrated company dedicated to acquiring, developing, managing, and financing student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) properties. Its residential communities offer top-tier amenities, innovative design, and exceptional, hospitality-focused customer service.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the third-party accounting team, ensuring adherence to accounting practices and deadlines. Review consolidated analyses, journal entries, and monthly variance reports. Collaborate with the Joint Venture Reporting Manager on financial reporting. Work closely with operations staff and asset managers. Lead financial package distribution to lenders and partners. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and resolve related issues. Oversee property acquisition/disposition entries and financial reporting for sold entities. Review bank reconciliations and journal entries as needed. Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met. Update Standard Operating Procedures & Best Practice Memos. Assist with ad hoc projects as needed. Occasional travel may be required. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements:
1-3 years of supervisor experience & 8 years of accounting experience in the Real Estate industry (required) Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or Master’s preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP compliance Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Drive and desire to learn new technologies and grow technical and functional skill sets Nice to have:
Implementing process improvements and being highly adaptable Passion for making business processes more efficient and successful Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Acquisitions/Dispositions Seniority level
