In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team, of the US South Sector, based in our Rome or Atlanta GA office and have the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects with a focus on highway, railway and transit structures including bridge, culverts and retaining walls. Senior Structural Engineer - Bridges.
Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team, of the US South Sector, based in our Rome or Atlanta GA office and have the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects with a focus on highway, railway and transit structures including bridge, culverts and retaining walls.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Lead the structural design for all project types, including complex bridge designs Lead the planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structures Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate Prepare plan drawings and details, construction specifications and design calculations Perform Construction and Life Cycle Cost estimates and prepare load rating calculations Oversee project construction administration including reviews of shop drawings and Requests for Information Supervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to meet project deadlines as well as scope and budget requirements Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables
What Your Experience Looks Like
10 years progressively responsible relevant experience. BS in Civil/Structural Engineering. Licensed PE in Georgia. Prior experience with complex bridge projects a plus. Knowledge AASHTO and bridge analysis, design and detailing preferred. Knowledge of structural analysis software including SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, LARSA 4D or similar preferred. In depth knowledge of MicroStation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians. Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to mentor structural engineers.
