Job Description

The Café Manager is responsible for leading the team to meet all business objectives while delivering outstanding service. This includes overseeing all aspects of the café in both back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) operations, as well as customer engagement areas.

Oversees daily operations to ensure standards for guest service, employee practices, financial performance, operational efficiency, and health and safety are met.

Engages with café employees to foster teamwork and operational excellence.

Motivates, inspires, and develops the team by setting clear expectations and leading by example.

Fulfills guest needs by actively participating in service operations such as barista, cashier, gelato, and dining area maintenance.

Ensures adherence to Food Safety and Quality standards, complying with all health regulations.

Collaborates with the Director of Operations to develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures.

Manages labor, costs, inventory, regulatory compliance, pricing, and merchandising to optimize performance.

Uses financial reports and business data to inform decision-making.

Assists in team scheduling to maximize productivity and labor efficiency.

Recruits and trains team members in collaboration with HR and Talent Acquisition.

Acts as a brand ambassador for Eataly to the community and guests.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a café or quick service environment.

Knowledge and experience in coffee and coffee production.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Job Requirements

Ability to stand, bend, reach, and be mobile for up to 4 hours.

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Ability to operate a commercial espresso machine.

Food Handlers License and Serv-Safe Certification are advantageous.

The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000.
