This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist with expertise in cell biology assay development and execution to contribute to drug discovery projects within AstraZeneca R&D in Waltham, MA. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on oncology projects, helping identify and develop high-quality lead compounds for clinical development. Support multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Accountabilities

Develop, validate, and utilize cell biology assays to profile compounds rapidly, informing chemistry and project progression. Responsibilities include: Deliver high-quality cell-based screening data to guide drug design Develop and validate functional assays to meet project needs Stay updated on advancements in cell-based assays for drug discovery Present data and insights at meetings, sharing technical expertise Contribute to multiple drug project teams in a fast-paced setting Work effectively as part of a team to deliver quality leads Qualifications

Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biology, or related field with 1-3 years post-grad experience OR Master’s with 5-8 years post-grad experience Strong team player with excellent communication skills Proven experience culturing various cell types Successful development of cell-based assays (e.g., AlphaLISAs, HiBiTs, nanoBRETs, proliferation, imaging) Extensive experience with imaging technologies Creative problem-solving skills and ability to improve assay technologies Accurate record-keeping and lab notebook maintenance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience supporting oncology programs and culturing primary human cells/organoids is desirable About AstraZeneca
