Position Summary Phelix Medical is seeking a seasoned healthcare evaluation professional to serve as Director of Pharmacogenomics Clinical Outcomes. This expert will lead the design, execution, and reporting of clinical utility and implementation outcomes for our precision medicine pilot programs at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
The ideal candidate brings experience in health outcomes research, real-world evidence (RWE), and implementation science. Knowledge of pharmacogenomics (PGx) is preferred. They will ensure Phelix Medical’s pilot programs deliver measurable clinical, economic, and operational value that informs scaling across military healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities Program Evaluation Design & Oversight: Develop and lead the outcomes evaluation framework for PGx integration pilots at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including provider adoption, medication changes, adverse drug events, and health economics. Align outcome measures with military health system readiness goals.
Clinical & Operational Collaboration Coordinate with prescribing providers, pharmacists, and IT leads to track PGx adoption and integration into EHR workflows. Conduct qualitative interviews and surveys with clinical staff to gather behavioral insights. Guide clinical teams in consistent PGx data capture and documentation.
Data Collection & Analysis Oversee collection of real-world data (RWD) from EHRs, PGx reports, and clinical decision support tools. Lead comparative analyses between pre-PGx and post-PGx prescribing patterns and patient outcomes. Perform health economic modeling to assess cost-effectiveness of PGx implementation.
Reporting & Knowledge Dissemination Develop monthly progress summaries and a comprehensive end-of-pilot outcomes report. Provide evidence-based scaling recommendations for expanded military adoption. Author white papers and, where appropriate, lead peer-reviewed publication submissions.
Required Qualifications PhD, PharmD, MD/MPH, or equivalent degree in Health Services Research, Implementation Science, Pharmacoeconomics, or related field. Demonstrated experience leading clinical implementation or evaluation projects, preferably in PGx, genomics, or personalized medicine. Experience with EHR systems, clinical workflows, and healthcare data analytics. Familiarity with military or federal healthcare systems (preferred but not required). Strong communication, leadership skills and self-starter.
Engagement Structure Initial 12 month contract with option to extend or convert to permanent role based on funding and performance. Compensation commensurate with experience and level of engagement (part- or full-time): $100,000 - $120,000/year. Seniority level
