About the position
Serve as the Lead Sonographer, ensuring diagnostic ultrasound examinations are completed according to established protocols.
Act as a subject expert in maternal fetal ultrasound and assist other sonographers as needed.
Manage daily operations and workflow of the department, including scheduling, overbooking, and staff coordination.
Contribute to work organization, quality improvement projects, and staff scheduling.
Train staff and monitor adherence to imaging protocols.
Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Assist with staff meetings, hiring, evaluations, and other projects.
Participate in clinical training and supervise ultrasound student rotations.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN.
RDMS or RDCS in Fetal Echocardiography.
BART or BLS certification at hire, with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.
At least 5 years of recent experience in maternal fetal medicine ultrasound.
Thorough knowledge of ultrasound principles, maternal-fetal assessment, and fetal anatomy.
Experience performing 12-14 week detailed anatomy scans per AIUM guidelines.
Commitment to ongoing education in MFM ultrasound, with at least 20 CMEs every 36 months.
Effective communication skills and intermediate computer skills.
Knowledge of quality assurance, sterile techniques, and infection control.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous lead sonographer experience in maternal-fetal medicine.
Nuchal Translucency Quality Review (NTQR) Certification or equivalent.
Additional Conditions
Ability to work various hours and locations as needed.
Background check and pre-employment physical required.
Salary Range: $155,326 - $171,446 annually, prorated if less than full-time.
