Base pay range $250,000.00/yr - $350,000.00/yr
Sierra Donor Services is seeking a board-certified
Organ Recovery Surgeon
to assist with clinical, operational, and research activities. Responsibilities:
Surgically recover abdominal (liver, kidney, pancreas, and small bowel) organs for transplantation and research in donor hospitals throughout the service area.
Assume on-call responsibilities as required to ensure adequate coverage for donor activity and be available to recover organs at the specified time.
Support compliance with CMS, UNOS regulations, AOPO standards, and other medical/legal requirements.
Provide education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in the donation process.
Serve as an advisor between the organization and hospital staff during organ procurement.
Qualifications:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified in general surgery with a current license.
5+ years of experience in organ recovery, transplantation, or critical care.
Availability for weekdays and weekends for donor recovery call (number of days to be determined).
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
First dose of COVID-19 vaccine or proof of vaccination required by start date.
