Description Reporting to the Network Communications Manager and working with other Technology Managers, the Senior Network Engineer provides technical services to the IT teams, business end-users, and IT Managers. This role ensures effective technical resolution, knowledge transfer, and skills development across all levels of the technology team. Additionally, the role involves working as part of the global Network Communications team, contributing to the design, implementation, commissioning, and decommissioning of infrastructure. The position is responsible for the infrastructure and lifecycle management of designated platforms globally, including commissioning, maintenance, issue resolution, and change control to ensure capacity, performance, and availability. The Senior Network Engineer will demonstrate technical leadership across various technology areas, implementing best practices and collaborating on infrastructure roadmaps, capacity planning, and contingency strategies. Responsibilities Include Define strategies and progression plans for technology platforms and services. Design, implement, and maintain WAN, LAN, WLAN, and Voice networks across multiple regions. Assist in designing, planning, and reviewing solutions, ensuring security and compatibility. Conduct audits, document infrastructure, and support disaster recovery planning. Advise on network availability and capacity issues. Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance and performance. Maintain network documentation such as diagrams and asset lists. Support project development and budgeting processes. Mentor and coach team members to transfer knowledge. Build strategic relationships with technology providers. Stay current with technical developments to leverage new opportunities. Provide third-line support for network platforms. Participate as a project resource for technology initiatives. Technical Skills WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, WLAN infrastructure (Cisco, TCP/IP, SIP, VoIP, NAC) Cisco network design and security products (ASA/FTD, IDS/IPS) Routing, Switching, and WAN protocols, including SD-WAN VoIP solutions (Cisco, Mitel, UCaaS) Microsoft Teams familiarity Network security principles, RSA/RADIUS, AV solutions Secure Internet Gateways, TMG, ISA, zScaler Minimum Requirements At least 5 years of experience in server and network administration Proficiency in network protocols and design Knowledge of WAN optimization solutions Understanding of infrastructure architecture principles Deep knowledge of Ethernet LAN and WAN protocols, including SD-WAN Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) required Experience in law firms or professional services preferred Project management knowledge (PRINCE2) is a plus About the Firm Squire Patton Boggs is a leading global law firm committed to integrating legal, lobbying, and political expertise.
