Position Summary: Project Engineer Fortune-Johnson General Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer (PM Track) to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, embraces ambiguity, thinks big, and maintains high standards of excellence. This role is primarily focused on learning and developing leadership skills through project administration, field activities, and construction tasks. Advancement will be based on mastering these responsibilities.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Communication:
Effectively communicate with subcontractors regarding the project and scope of work.
Material Knowledge:
Demonstrate understanding of common materials used in our projects.
Contract Documents:
Show understanding of contract documents and interpret drawings, submittals, and shop drawings.
Field Recognition:
Walk the project site and recognize details in the field.
Follow-up:
Execute follow-up correspondence to assist in project tasks.
Relationship Building:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients.
Additional Tasks:
Perform other ad hoc reporting as necessary.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.
0-2 years of experience.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Strong team player capable of multitasking.
Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
Effective organization, planning, and management skills.
