Manager, Program Support
Chicago, IL / National Program Team – National Program Team / Full-Time / Hybrid The Manager, Program Support (MPS) will be responsible for providing strategic support and coaching for mentors and other program participants and partners in an effort to empower students to graduate high school, succeed in college and career, and achieve their ambitions. They will be responsible for building out solutions for virtual program facilitation and program participant support at scale. Reporting to the Associate Director of Program Support, the MPS will provide in-the-moment targeted support to mentors, as the primary conduit for supporting mentee success, using a data-informed approach to address the needs of program participants. They will work to leverage and engage mentors as a “go-to” resource for mentees, providing timely and relevant information that focuses on how they can help their mentee navigate the post-secondary environment. The ideal candidate(s) will believe fully in the power of mentors to support students in achieving their post-secondary goals. Successful candidates will be extremely customer-service oriented, data driven, and skilled at volunteer management and support. Responsibilities
Coach and motivate adult volunteer mentors in supporting mentees on their individual journeys to post-secondary success Document and track all pair progress and support provided to participants Host iMentor virtual and in-person office hours to support mentors Qualifications
Passionate about the college access and progressive pathways space and a strong believer in the power of mentors and mentoring to support first-generation students as they matriculate to and through college and alternative pathways. Three (3+) years of professional experience in case management, including college advising, admissions, college access programming and persistence, workforce development, and volunteer engagement. A master of triage: able to assess lots of information, identify the elements that are most critical, and identify and pursue a course of action based on that information. A commitment to working with adult volunteers to help them maximize their impact Extremely customer service oriented and enthusiastic about coaching, solving problems, and meeting immediate needs Strong organization and project management skills Data-driven, with a belief in the power of technology to scale support for students Views differences between individuals (race, gender, age, cultural heritage, physical ability, education, beliefs, and lifestyle) as an asset and demonstrates an appreciation of the diversity across the iMentor community. Bachelor’s degree required Our organization works in partnership with district public schools across the country. In doing so we must meet all compliance requirements of those districts including background checks. iMentor is committed to ensuring healthy and safe environments for our staff, mentors, and the students we serve.
