Job Description Job Summary Assists department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining the building and grounds with attention to safety, security, and asset protection. Assigns, tracks, and follows up on work assigned to staff and contractors. Aims to increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communication and training.
Candidate Profile Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related field; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
Core Work Activities
Supporting management of department operations and engineering budgets.
Planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
Establishing priorities for property maintenance needs.
Supervising daily engineering operations.
Managing physical plant including equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
Maintaining and operating equipment efficiently and safely.
Supervising repair work orders and grounds maintenance.
Acting as technical liaison for all departments.
Supervising engineering in the absence of the Director.
Recommending additional services and managing procurement of equipment and supplies.
Inspecting and evaluating facilities to determine work required.
Managing inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment.
Performing inspections and evaluating new technologies.
Implementing energy conservation programs.
Maintaining Engineering Standards
Ensuring permits and licenses are current.
Maintaining regulatory compliance and safety standards.
Adhering to departmental policies and standards.
Providing proper supplies and uniforms to employees.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
Leading guest hospitality efforts with excellent service.
Interacting with guests for feedback.
Empowering employees to deliver high-quality service.
Conducting Human Resources Activities
Supervising staffing levels.
Training employees in safety procedures.
Providing performance feedback.
Supporting operational activities as needed.
