Job Description Job Summary Assists department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining the building and grounds with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection. Assigns, tracks, and follows up on work assigned to staff and contractors. Aims to increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communication and training.

Candidate Profile Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related field; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

OR 2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

Core Work Activities

Supporting management of department operations and budgets.

Planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.

Supervising day-to-day engineering operations.

Managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and safety systems.

Maintaining equipment effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.

Supervising repair work orders and grounds maintenance.

Acting as technical liaison across departments.

Supervising engineering in the absence of the Director.

Recommending or arranging additional services and equipment purchases.

Inspections and evaluation of facilities.

Managing inventories to minimize downtime.

Assisting with technology and energy conservation initiatives.

Maintaining Engineering Standards

Ensuring permits and licenses are current.

Ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards.

Adhering to departmental policies and standards.

Providing proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms to staff.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

Leading with excellent customer service and positive guest interactions.

Gathering feedback to improve service quality.

Empowering employees to deliver outstanding service.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

Supervising staffing levels and training employees on safety procedures.

Providing performance feedback and assisting with operational activities as needed.

The salary range for this position is $82,000 to $112,000 annually. Marriott offers comprehensive benefits including health care, 401(k), stock purchase plans, paid time off, insurance, travel discounts, and more. Benefits are subject to eligibility and company policies.
