Responsibilities The Stationary Operations Engineer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all stationary equipment within our facility, ensuring its optimal operation and safety. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the machinery, routine check-ups, troubleshooting, and efficient repair methods.
Maintenance and Operation:
Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment.
Must be experienced in maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to: chillers =/+500 tons, boilers, pumps, control systems, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAV's and VFD's. Candidates must be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations, read blueprints, schematics, and specifications, and understand building air systems. Ability to respond to service calls for gas-fired boilers, Chillers, AHU, fire pumps, generators, UPS, ATS, BAS, and Fire Alarm systems.
Routine Inspections:
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, ensure equipment operates within parameters, and complies with safety standards.
Respond to service calls, diagnose issues, implement solutions, and document activities using the site CMMS system.
Observe system readings, adjust controls, record logs, and perform preventive maintenance as per site standards.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose system malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Documentation:
Keep detailed records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
Compliance:
Ensure operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
Collaboration:
Work with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to resolve issues promptly.
Address questions, progress, and discrepancies impacting building operation and occupant comfort. Initiate follow-up actions as needed.
Emergency Response:
Act as first responder during equipment emergencies, implementing safety procedures.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with industry trends, attend workshops, and training.
Qualifications
Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED.
U.S. Citizenship required; active TS/SCI Poly clearance necessary.
DC 3rd Class Engineering License required.
Candidate Expectations
Experience with boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, etc.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to interpret technical documentation.
Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC controls.
Abilities
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and perform physical tasks.
Ability to use ladders, climb scaffolds, and work safely at various heights.
Good vision, color perception, and communication skills.
Recognize system issues and apply general problem-solving skills.
Close-range vision and auditory communication skills.
Pay Range USD $54.45 - USD $87.12 /Yr.
