Accounts Payable Specialist

to join our finance team. This role involves processing invoices, managing payments, and ensuring that all vendor accounts are accurate and up-to-date. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery receipts, ensuring proper documentation. Code and enter invoices into the accounting system for timely payment. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Prepare and process check runs, electronic payments, and other payment methods. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions. Respond to vendor inquiries and communicate effectively to resolve payment-related issues. Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred. Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role, preferably in the construction or electrical contracting industry. Proficiency in accounting software (Foundation and Account Edge) and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Familiarity with lien waivers and construction industry payment processes (preferred). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with job cost accounting systems. Ability to identify process improvements and implement efficiencies. Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
