Primary Role
The Store Manager - Unassigned is responsible for learning and supporting the company’s culture, demonstrating strong leadership, motivating and supervising team members, and understanding merchandising, shrink control, and store operations. The role requires knowledge of the local market, customer base, seasonal opportunities, competitors, and other factors influencing the business. The Store Manager - Unassigned is a role model, problem-solver, and strategic thinker, managing time effectively to meet budget goals. This position involves learning store operations within 6 to 12 months, with a willingness to relocate afterward. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Promote Family Farm and Home’s mission and values. Foster an aggressive sales culture with a focus on superior customer service. Maintain a motivated team through hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and firing, as well as planning and evaluating job results. Maintain professionalism and positive morale. Ensure store responsibilities are executed effectively by key associates and personal actions. Schedule and assign team members, monitor work results. Provide feedback to company officials such as buyers and district managers. Take full profit and loss accountability for the store. Assist in preparing the annual budget, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Establish rapport with customers to identify current and future needs. Support local community groups aligned with company values. Manage inventory and services, ensuring proper contracts and stock levels. Protect inventory and assets against theft and damage. Ensure merchandise is received, stored, and displayed according to procedures. Maintain a safe, clean environment, complying with legal requirements. Review operational and financial data to inform marketing strategies. Attend educational workshops, review publications, and build personal networks to maintain professional knowledge. Enforce operational and personnel policies to ensure consistent store operations. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or company officials. Manager Trainee Requirements
A successful Store Manager - Unassigned must demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and management skills with limited supervision. Effective communication, hiring and firing capabilities, customer service orientation, organizational skills, data interpretation, and multitasking ability are essential. The role requires physical ability to stand for long periods, handle merchandise, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is necessary.
