As an Inland Marine Underwriter in the Middle & Large Business organization, you will lead the sales and underwriting process by building strong relationships with agents and brokers, ensuring The Hartford is their preferred carrier. Success involves strategic account management, operational excellence, and identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience For Executive Underwriter: 5+ years of Inland Marine underwriting experience For Senior Underwriter: 3+ years of Inland Marine underwriting experience Experience with construction, transportation, or renewable energy risks is a plus Strong relationship management and communication skills Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities Self-motivated with organizational skills Goal-oriented with a competitive spirit Technical expertise and sound judgment Valid driver’s license (company pool car may be provided) Location & Work Arrangement

This role offers hybrid or remote options. Candidates near Cincinnati, OH; Independence, OH; Columbus, OH; Troy, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; or Chicago, IL are expected to work in-office three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday). Others may work remotely with occasional office visits. Candidates must reside in Ohio, Michigan, or Illinois. Compensation

The annual base pay ranges from $98,800 to $184,800, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs. Additional Information
