Overview We are seeking an experienced

Traffic Design Engineer

to support our

Southeast Region , based in

Miami or Fort Lauderdale, FL .

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

Prepare technical reports for traffic impact studies, interchange access requests, or safety studies.

Manage the development of traffic impact studies, land use planning, master plan studies, traffic signal warrant studies, bikeway planning and design, community and campus planning, and technical report writing.

Design traffic signal plans for new intersections and modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations.

Develop temporary traffic control plans (TMP), signing, and pavement marking plans.

Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans.

Assist in conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings, and engineering reports.

Supervise and mentor junior engineers.

Participate in client meetings and manage project budgets to meet financial goals.

Engage in business development activities.

Required Skills and Experience

BS in Civil Engineering.

3-6 years of traffic engineering experience.

FL PE license is required; PTOE is preferred.

Membership in transportation industry organizations (e.g., WTS, ASCE, ITE) is preferred.

Knowledge of transportation planning, DOT standards, MUTCD, and AASHTO.

Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD (OpenRoads/InRoads preferred), and traffic analysis software (VISSIM, Synchro/Simtraffic, Sidra, HCS).

Effective communication skills, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal oversight.

Willingness to develop and maintain client relationships.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
