Dean | Fluor is seeking a Critical Facilities Manager (CFM) to join our operations team for the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of a mission-critical government data center. The CFM is responsible for the safety, risk mitigation, and operations of the critical environment during their shift. They ensure all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems operate efficiently. The manager acts as a technical expert, reporting to the operations manager and collaborating with government personnel and third-party vendors. Responsibilities
Manage a rotating shift of qualified operators monitoring system control applications. Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), operator aids, and training programs for complex systems. Ensure compliance with safety, operational procedures, codes, and regulations. Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for scheduling, dispatching, and reporting maintenance activities. Coordinate with the Operations Manager to optimize system performance and energy efficiency. Supervise shift activities and maintain detailed shift logs. Manage plant and substation configurations and respond to alarms promptly. Provide reports on facility events and ensure follow-up actions. Communicate with clients during shutdowns or degraded conditions. Oversee scheduled outages and coordinate impacts. Brief management on facility issues, weather, and world events affecting operations. Perform other duties as required. Job Requirements
Must pass extensive background screening due to the sensitive nature of the position. Availability for shift work, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. 24/7 availability with coverage for personal time off. High school diploma or GED with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in critical environments and 10 years of supervisory experience in O&M of large buildings. Strong electrical and HVAC background, including UPS, emergency power, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units. Ability to interpret work orders, manuals, and safety documents. Proficiency with computerized maintenance and timekeeping systems. Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and with equipment over six feet tall. Must carry a two-way radio and possess a valid driver’s license. Compliance with licensing, certification, and company policies. Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or facilities engineering. Additional Abilities
Prolonged computer use, sitting, reaching, finger dexterity, listening, speaking, reading, problem-solving, and understanding speech.
