Job Summary Obtains standard as well as special procedure EEG recordings and monitors additional physiologic phenomena by means of appropriate techniques and instrumentation.
Essential Responsibilities
Records physiological data from patients undergoing routine, sleep, and special EEG procedures, including telemetry application and monitoring.
Performs intraoperative procedures, monitors data during surgeries, applies and removes electrodes.
Provides first aid for electrophysiological patients experiencing convulsions or other issues.
Cleans and maintains equipment, ensures lab cleanliness, and manages data storage.
Serves as a resource for residents, physicians, and technicians, offering assistance and advice.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred.
0-1 years related experience required.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications and web-based tools.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of technical healthcare experience.
Completion of an accredited EEG or Sleep Technologist program.
Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Knowledge of standard practices, procedures, and policies.
Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
High level of customer service and staff training skills.
Age-based Competencies Capable of providing patient care to neonatal, young adult, middle-aged, and elderly patients.
Physical Requirements Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force, standing, moving throughout the hospital campus.
All staff must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
