Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural / Bridge Design Engineer to be part of our growing Colorado and U.S. West regional bridge design project work based in the Denver, CO. office. The role will involve performing bridge structure design analysis, including plan preparation of various and diverse bridge structures, BIM and FEM modeling tool usage, and exposure to and contributing to project work throughout the Western U.S. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects such as the Portage Bay Bridge and Brent Spence in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
Senior Structural Engineer on projects, including reviewing designs and plans.
Providing specialized technical input on transportation-related projects.
Managing projects, including design tasks and coordination of work with engineering staff.
Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation utilizing prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
Proficient in the use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex structures with an additional focus on 3D bridge modelling workflows.
Experience in preparation of technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in structural engineering.
Project management skills.
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
Structural problem analysis skills (knowledge and use of design and calculation tools and software).
Knowledge of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes, such as AREMA, AASHTO, PCI, etc.
Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools such as Open Bridge Designer, CSI, Midas, etc.
A current PE license in the State of CO.

Offered rate of compensation for Denver, CO (and greater Colorado) will be based on the individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $180,000.00.
