Forestry Program Specialist (70441) – ADCNR Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries
Location: Montgomery, AL • Job Type: Full‑Time Responsibilities
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full‑time Forestry Program Specialist position within the Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries, Wildlife Section located within the headquarters office in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a forestry professional tract position responsible for conducting and overseeing forestry program operations to benefit wildlife resources and wildlife habitat. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing forest and habitat management programs; coordinating forest harvesting, thinning, site preparation, and replanting activities; preparing and maintaining forest inventory information; coordinating with Wildlife Management Area managers to provide guidance in the achievement of wildlife habitat management goals relating to forest management; and coordinating and maintaining mapping systems relating to lands managed within the Wildlife Management Area system. Qualifications
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in forestry, forest management, or a closely related field. Applicants must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license at the time of appointment. Applicants must also have a current valid license as issued by the Alabama State Board of Registration for Foresters at the time of appointment, or obtain a license as issued by the Alabama State Board of Registration for Foresters during the probationary period.
