Now Hiring: Franklin Beacons Youth Counselor Pay Range:

$17.50–$18.50 per hour (DOQ)

Status:

Part-Time (16–20 hours per week)

Location:

YWCA Minneapolis – Franklin Middle School

What You’ll Do As a Youth Counselor in the Franklin Beacons afterschool program, you’ll engage elementary and middle school youth in enriching, hands-on activities that promote learning, confidence, and connection. You’ll collaborate with the Beacons team to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where youth can explore their interests, build relationships, and thrive.

In this role, you will:

Lead engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant activities for groups of youth.

Collaborate with coworkers to create a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered afterschool environment.

Maintain and promote safety standards for physical and emotional wellbeing.

Support communication with participants and families to strengthen relationships and encourage consistent attendance.

Assist with registration, data collection, and program evaluation activities.

Contribute to program reports and documentation.

Participate in meetings, professional development, and collaboration across Girls & Youth programs.

Schedule:

Monday–Thursday, 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM (program hours: 2:20 PM – 5:15 PM)

Includes preparation time and professional development activities.

For Franklin the hours are Monday-Thursday 3:00-6:00pm
