Responsible for making recommendations to the Superintendent on all aspects of systems planning and continuous improvement in all areas of the organization. Essential Functions
Serve as a key member of the Superintendent’s executive leadership team, acting as a strategic leader and spokesperson on behalf of the Superintendent and Henry County Schools. Participate proactively in leadership meetings, representing district priorities. Ensure strong communication with principals and district leaders. Supervise and support assigned department staff. Represent HCBOE to attend, report, and possibly present to the Board of Commissioners and City Council on land use, rezoning, residential development, and roadway projects. Facilitate cross-divisional work on student enrollment, program changes, and facility use, focusing on FTE projections, classroom utilization, school and employee choice. Document all state reporting requirements and map processes as part of the state reporting team. Manage pilot studies, external reviews, and proofs of concept from start to finish, including impact reporting. Develop a system documentation process for federal, state, and internal procedures. Prepare for external evaluations like Cognia and others. Coordinate governance recognitions and honors, including GSBA achievements. Lead long-term student projection processes and annual FTE projections, reporting regularly to leadership. Evaluate employee and school choice processes and hardship transfers. Lead a Systems Improvement Team reporting quarterly to the Executive Cabinet. Support strategic planning, communication, and plan monitoring with other divisions. Participate in SPLOST planning and monitoring. Contribute to land planning, new school planning, and communication strategies. Develop equipment lists and processes for new and replacement schools. Document and improve operational processes. Conduct operational effectiveness analyses and improvement plans to support student learning. Ensure completion of various planning documents and reports, including enrollment projections, partnerships, equipment plans, and safety assessments. Attend meetings and trainings as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Georgia Educator certificate in Educational Leadership preferred. Minimum three years of administrative or supervisory experience. Experience at building or district level administration. Knowledge of public education and improvement strategies for student achievement. Ability to analyze data and organizational situations to inform decisions. Strong strategic planning and organizational skills. Understanding of systems thinking from structural, human, political, and cultural perspectives. Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, including boards, staff, and community. Focus on improving student performance, closing achievement gaps, and instructional improvement. Decision-making skills, professionalism under stress, and sound judgment. Ability to coach, collaborate, and build consensus among stakeholders. Integrity, confidentiality, and professional reputation. Adherence to Georgia Professional Standards for Educators. Reliability and presence at the worksite. Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills essential for performance.
