Position Summary: The University of New Mexico (UNM), College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Associate Dean of Community and Clinical Affairs. This role provides strategic leadership in developing and refining the College’s practice mission and activities. The Associate Dean will articulate a compelling, inclusive vision for the future of nursing practice and community affairs within the CON. In collaboration with CON Chief Financial Officer, ensures financial feasibility of clinical enterprises, ensures timely reporting of financial status across clinical enterprise to the Dean and other required entities. Addresses financial and budget concerns proactively. Serves as a key member of CON Leadership team reporting to the Dean. Duties and Responsibilities: Leads efforts to expand and enhance community partnerships designed to meet the healthcare needs of New Mexicans. Identifies and partners with other healthcare disciplines to secure primary care nursing clinical practice sites. Responsible for developing cost effective, high quality clinical programs that meet the needs of patients and their families. Leads efforts to evaluate levels of excellence within the practice enterprise. Provides leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating clinical practice models. Provides leadership in developing specific CON policies and procedures regarding the clinical practice enterprise that tie into relevant college, campus, university and faculty governance. Works within the established faculty governance structure regarding curriculum. Designs, in collaboration with faculty, staff, and clinical agencies, a variety of practice opportunities that allow the CON to meet its stated goals for community service and faculty practice. Creates a system of accountability through the definition and reporting of quality metrics and productivity standards. Provides leadership in identifying and developing appropriate external funding to support the practice missions of the CON. Collaborates with the office of research and scholarship to submit grants and funding requests to external agencies to expand practice initiatives. Collaborates with Assistant Deans, clinical staff, faculty, and others to foster a climate of clinical and academic excellence; interdisciplinary initiatives; diversity, equity, and inclusion, interpersonal communication; and consensus building across the organization. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: A PhD, DNP or related doctorate Must be eligible for rank of Associate Professor or Professor Must be eligible for nursing licensure in New Mexico Experience managing a clinical site, practice, and/or unit, ideally nurse-led, including financial and supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of establishing and executing primary care nursing clinics that includes operationalizing billing, credentialing, and revenue projections for clinical sustainability Oversight of clinical revenue cycle management to include billing, coding, and claims processing in addition to Medicaid, Medicare, and private payer practices Experience with projections of patients’ volumes as it relates to aligning clinical revenues with institutional goals MBA or related degree Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and scale clinical operations for multisite and multidisciplinary clinics consisting of various clinical teams Experience working as an APRN and/or as an RN directly supporting APRNs Experience coordinating grant-funded projects Record of progressive mentorship and leadership A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities Application Instructions: Only applications submitted through the official UNMJobs site will be accepted.
