Oncology Veterinary Technician
Seeking a compassionate, skilled, upbeat Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our expanding Oncology team.

Description We are a Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Hospital located in Berkeley. PETS is a talented and collaborative team that enjoys working together to provide excellent patient care and client service. We have a long history of providing excellent service to our community.
Responsibilities
Assisting our Oncologist and other team members
Restraining animals safely using stress‑free handling techniques
Working collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
Successfully using all in‑house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
Safely and effectively taking digital radiographs
Calculating drug dosages
Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
Proficiency with venous catheterization
Possessing or acquiring knowledge of chemotherapy medications and how to deliver them
Possessing or acquiring knowledge of chemotherapy protocols
Effectively caring for and communicating with clients
Qualifications • Positive personality and effective communication skills • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment • Multi‑tasking proficiency • Well‑rounded skill set and solid knowledge base • Oncology experience preferred, but not required • Must have experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital
