Veterinary Technician – Emergency Supervisor
Join United Veterinary Care as a Veterinary Technician–Emergency Supervisor. We are hiring a compassionate, skilled, upbeat Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to lead our emergency team.
About PETS Referral Center We are a growing specialty and emergency veterinary hospital located in Berkeley. Our talented team collaborates to provide excellent patient care and client service. We offer a $2,500 hiring bonus, weekend shift differential, and overnight differential.
Who are we looking for? Positive personality, effective communication, fast‑paced team capability, multitasking, well‑rounded skills, solid knowledge base, and prior leadership experience. Willingness to work 24‑hour hours outside of a typical 9‑am‑5‑pm schedule. Minimum two years experience as a technician in an emergency veterinary hospital.
Responsibilities
Mentoring emergency paraprofessional staff
Onboarding and training of new and current staff
Assisting management team with implementing SOPs for emergency paraprofessional staff
Assisting management team in daily floor responsibilities and coverage, proactively planning for the day
Maintaining communication with the management team and assisting with employee oversight
Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
Successfully using all in‑house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
Safely and effectively taking digital radiographs
Calculating drug dosages accurately
Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)
Possessing or developing advanced emergency skills
Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
Effectively caring for and communicating with clients

Pay up to $42 an hour
4/10 alternative work week schedule
Weekend shift differential $2.00/hr, overnight differential $4.00/hr
