Assistant Professor – Computer and Information Science Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Computer & Information Science (CIS) with a starting date in August 2026.

Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses.

Develop and maintain a funded research agenda.

Provide academic and career advising, mentoring, and training for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.

Participate in college, department, and/or university committees, and other service commitments (e.g., curriculum development, student outreach).

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution with a publication record in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber security, data science, or informatics.

Ability to teach undergraduate, master’s, and PhD level courses is required.

Ability to teach evening, weekends, face‑to‑face, and online courses.

Experience teaching college‑level classes, including online teaching.

Record of preparing students for AI literacy, career‑connected learning, and serving non‑traditional student populations.

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Sponsorship will not be offered.

Compensation:

$79,958 – $102,017, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. CUNY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
