Senior Automation Analyst - SCADA System
Base pay range: $64,449.00/yr - $109,565.00/yr
Shift Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
Administer and support the Utilities Department's various SCADA Systems.
Support system expansions/updates/upgrades.
Design/coordinate SCADA network communications.
Support SCADA applications in both a water and wastewater environment.
Collaborate with engineers and system integrators on existing SCADA systems as well as new design requirements.
Perform emergency response and triage for Plant operations for all SCADA systems.
Negotiate and coordinate managed care agreements.
Collaborate with IST on network and server hardware needs and changes.
Coordinate the work effort of outside SCADA support vendors in the ongoing maintenance and upgrades to the Department's various SCADA systems, including management and oversight of various size and scope SCADA projects.
Assist other analysts and the Automation Coordinator in the research and implantation of best practices for the department's database environment including maintenance issues, operation requirements, disaster recovery, and security.
Provide troubleshooting and technical support to ensure technology adheres to system development methodology and policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
Maintain documentation for technical processes, procedures and training materials for applications, databases, and systems.
Perform other work as required.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related field; three years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with emphasis on analysis from a technical aspect as well as a business/process point of view or an equivalent combination of training and experience; experience with operating systems and their environments, networks, wireless communications, software, hardware and programming in a field environment.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) controls and PLC/RTU systems administration in a water/wastewater environment. Project management experience involving sizable projects; working knowledge of computers, PLC’s/RTU’s, radio/wireless communication networks and associated peripherals. Ability to identify, research and recommend equipment and/or software improvements and upgrades.
Driver & Background Requirements Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
